About the programme
UKAS is undertaking a project to extend UKAS accreditation activity for ISO/IEC 17021-1 to include accredited certification to ISO 19443. Additionally the project will consider the requirements of ISO IEC TS 23406.

- ISO 19443:2018 Quality management systems. Specific requirements for the application of ISO 9001:2015 by organizations in the supply chain of the nuclear energy sector supplying products and services important to nuclear safety (ITNS)
- ISO/IEC TS 23406 (Technical Specification) Nuclear sector requirements for bodies providing audit and certification of MS for organisations supplying products and services
- ISO/IEC 17021-1:2015 Conformity assessment – Requirements for bodies providing audit and certification of management systems
Current status
ISO/IEC 17021-1:2015 accreditation for the delivery of ISO 19443:2018 has been granted on a rolling basis to successful certifications and it is anticipated that further certification bodies will join the ranks of the accredited organisations soon.
UKAS can now accept applications from organisations wishing to seek accreditation for delivery of ISO 19943:2018 certification.
