In Depth Study On The Feasibility Of A Consumer Safety Mark

The European Commission has undertaken that within one year of the publication of the Proposal for a Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council setting out the requirements for accreditation and market surveillance relating to the marketing of products it should present an in-depth analysis in the realm of consumer safety markings, if needed followed by legislative proposals.

The Commission is launching this study seeking responses to a questionnaire by the end of May. It will have three sections, for consumers, enterprise and authorities respectively.

The questionnaire through which interested parties can make their opinions known can be found at:

The Commission aims to make its formal communication on the study in September 2008.
