UKAS has recently been asked if we are able to offer ISO/IEC 17020:2012 accreditation for this scheme. As this scheme is a new area of accreditation UKAS would like to gauge the likely level of interest there may be from organisations who would want to inspect IOs under this scheme.  The level of interest will assist UKAS in determining the best way forward with a development project for this area.  A development project requires the organisation to have clients seeking accredited inspection against the scheme requirements so they can then gain access to Security Related information.

As this is an initial announcement to gauge the demand, and it is recognised that organisations will need to consult with their clients, please provide feedback to UKAS ( by the 30th September 2016.
