Traceability and Uncertainty for Managers This one-day training course is designed to provide a basic understanding of the concepts of measurement traceability and uncertainty for those who are not directly involved in measurements but who have managerial or budgetary responsibilities for these areas. It explains the importance of these topics and describes the benefits that can be obtained when they are implemented effectively. What are the benefits? Technical staff in calibration and testing laboratories can spend considerable time and effort ensuring that measurements are traceable and calculating the associated uncertainties. This course explains these ideas in a non-technical manner and describes how the relevant requirements of ISO/IEC 17025:2005 can be met. It illustrates the benefits so obtained and the risks associated with incorrect implementation of these requirements. It is aimed at managers and budget holders who do not require a detailed knowledge of the subjects but would benefit from an overview in order to help justify the resources needed to support them. Course content
