Aim: To provide training to enable UKAS Assessment Managers and UKAS Assessors to prepare to undertake the duties of a UKAS Lead Assessor
Who should attend: UKAS Assessment Managers, and UKAS Assessors wishing to become UKAS Lead Assessors who have either successfully completed the UKAS assessor training course or who are experienced assessors
Duration: A two-day programme
Where: Ascot, Berkshire
Tutors: Courses delivered by current UKAS Assessment Managers

Day One

- Introduction and briefing
- Contract review, planning of initial assessments,
  reassessments and extensions to scope
- Exercise: Contract review
- Report back
- Documentation review    
- Giving feedback
- Exercise: Documentation review
- Listening skills
- Report back and feedback
- Team leadership and team management
- Note taking and time management
- Assessment of internal audit and management review
- Exercise: Assessment of internal audit
- Questioning - handling awkward questions and questions to
  avoid
- Report back on exercise

Day Two

- Non-compliance reporting and corrective actions
- Exercise: Non-compliances and corrective actions
- Report back on exercise
- Managing meetings and discussions
- Reporting to management
- Exercise: Preparation for final meeting with management
- Exercise: Role play of the final meeting with management
- Report back on role-play, discussion and feedback
- Open forum
- Close of course
