Preparing for Accreditation for Point of Care Testing (POCT) – ISO 15189 / ISO 22870 (for those with limited or no awareness of ISO 15189)
1 day course
This course aims to provide an understanding in the requirements ISO 22870 and ISO 15189 in context of Point of Care Testing (POCT) provision. It is aimed at those with little awareness of ISO 15189 but interested in gaining accreditation for POCT.
A copy of BS EN ISO 15189: 2012 can be purchased and downloaded from the BSI Shop here.
What are the benefits
The course will enable delegates to gain knowledge in the particular requirements for quality and competence for POCT providers, as defined in ISO 15189 and ISO 22870, and how they are used as the criteria for accreditation. The awareness gained will be useful in preparing for accreditation as a POCT provider in organisations where there is little or no awareness of ISO 15189. It will not detail exactly what needs to be in place in order to be granted accreditation but to provide an insight into what an Accreditation Body needs to establish.
Please note: Delegates of this course will be required to complete a pre-course exercise prior to attending.
|This is an on-demand course and will only run when we have a minimum of five delegates. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to register your interest.|
Who should attend?
The course is for those who or are interested in seeking accreditation to ISO 15189/ISO 22870 as a POCT provider and want to learn about the specific requirements in ISO 15189/ ISO 22870. It is not limited to those from medical laboratories but from all areas where POCT can be provided. No previous knowledge of ISO 15189 or accreditation is required.
