Internal Communications Specialist

UKAS is recruiting for an Internal Communications Specialist to work in our dynamic marketing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to further their Internal Communications journey with a globally respected accreditation body.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be creative and passionate about communications and digital media
  • Demonstrate experience in developing and delivering internal communication plans and campaigns
  • Have a high degree of confidence, conveying experience as a trusted adviser to senior management
  • Be able to organise your own workload, coordinate projects, set priorities, meet deadlines and follow up on tasks with minimal direction
  • Need to be robust and solutions-focused using your creativity to ensure our communications channels are engaging and informative.
  • Have experience of internal comms in a B2B or corporate environment

Reporting to the Head of Marketing and Communications, the position will be primarily responsible for supporting the internal communications strategy and engagement plans, and help shape our employee communication and engagement programme.

This person will understand the purpose and value of a strong internal comms function and be an ambassador of the internal comms ‘brand’.

Duties of this role include:

  • Build and foster relationships across the business functions to understand requirements and ensure employees are engaged and informed no matter whether they are office based or working remotely.
  • Manage the company intranet, ensuring content is kept up to date, working with key representatives across the business.
  • The development and maintenance of dynamic content on communication channels for key internal audiences.
  • Develop and drive use of an internal communications calendar.
  • Work in partnership with HR to plan content and support with engagement initiatives.
  • Uphold the principles of meaningful and integrated communications, understand key messages and priorities, and consistency and clarity of message.

Salary: upwards of £35,000 per annum, plus benefits.

This is a full-time role, with the option of hybrid working, based at our head office in Staines-upon-Thames.
