Call for Expressions of Interest

The United Kingdom Accreditation Service has established a project to develop accreditation for ISO/IEC 17065, Requirements for bodies certifying products, processes and services via the British Institute of Learning disabilities (BILD) Restraint Reduction Network scheme for the Certification of training services. The project is supported by Health Education England.

UKAS has worked closely with BILD RRN in their preparation and development of this scheme (which is run on a not for profit basis) and has initiated a pilot programme and is inviting expressions of interest from organisations who wish to seek accreditation for this activity.

Details of the standards which training services will be certified against and scheme information, use of which must be licensed by BILD RRN, can be found on the RRN website via these links:

Participants in the pilot assessment programme will be required to agree to the terms of reference of the pilot and will be subject to assessment by UKAS against the international standard ISO/IEC 17065.

Those organisations that have sent an expression of interest for the pilot project will be invited to attend a pilot meeting of interested parties where the terms of the project will be discussed along with a proposed timeline for key stages and any phased approach process that is deemed necessary.

Those who wish to express an interest to participate in the pilot programme are requested to contact Emily Robinson (DevelopmentEnquiries@ukas.com) by 7th June 2019

Please note that attendance at this meeting is a requirement for those interested in participating in the pilot project. If you are unable to send a representative, please send apologies so that we are aware of your continued interest. Submitting an expression of interest does not indicate any commitment to participate in the project on the part of the interested parties and nor does the acceptance of an expression of interest commit UKAS to accept the interested party on to the pilot project.

Potential applicants may obtain copies of the Pilot Terms of Reference following the pilot meeting.
