» Expression of interest – ISO 41001: 2018 Facility management – Management systems – Requirements with guidance for use

04 May, 2020

UKAS issued an expression of interest notice for several management system standards, including ISO 41001, in January 2019. The responses showed that a small number of certification bodies were interested in accreditation to certify to this standard. However, at that time UKAS did not consider that there was sufficient interest to justify developing accreditation services for ISO 41001.

Since then there have been further enquiries indicating continuing interest in accredited certification for ISO 41001.

This notice is to invite certification bodies to confirm their interest in accreditation for ISO 41001, so that UKAS can gauge the potential demand for accreditation in this area. Please provide feedback to UKAS (DevelopmentEnquiries@ukas.com) by the 31 May 2020. It would also be helpful for planning purposes if you could provide the following information:

1.The number of clients/estimated number of clients you have for ISO 41001?

2.The date by which you envisage that you will be ready to offer certification to ISO 41001?

3.The number of non-accredited certificates issued for ISO 41001?

4.The date by which you envisage your clients being ready for 1) a Stage 1 and 2) a Stage 2 audit?

5.The geographical location(s) where accredited certificates will be issued (solely UK, Solely Europe, outside of Europe)?

It is appreciated that in the current COVID 19 environment it is difficult to predict timescales for some of the above, but general indications will be useful for UKAS in the planning of an ISO 41001 project.
