The International Accreditation Forum, IAF, has just published its 2016 IAF Multilateral Recognition Agreement (MLA) Annual Report, which sets out the detailed activity carried out as part of the peer evaluation process to maintain the integrity and consistency of the IAF MLA. The report includes information about the structure of the IAF MLA, numbers of IAF and Regional Group signatories and accredited certification bodies, peer evaluation activities, training, and new developments.
2016 saw the extension of the IAF MLA to the level 4 sub-scope of ISO/TS 50003:2014 Energy management systems – Requirements for bodies providing audit and certification of energy management systems and the level 5 scope of ISO 50001:2011 Energy management systems -- Requirements with guidance. Work also continued with the International Personnel Certification Association (IPC) and FAMI-QS on acceptance of their private sector schemes into the IAF MLA, and with the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) on recognition of its bench-marking process to facilitate the acceptance of GFSI bench-marked schemes as IAF MLA sub-scopes.
