25 September, 2018

The International Accreditation Forum, IAF, has just published its 2017-18 IAF Multilateral Recognition Agreement (MLA) Annual Report, which sets out the detailed activity carried out as part of the peer evaluation process to maintain the integrity and consistency of the IAF MLA. The report includes information about the structure of the IAF MLA, numbers of IAF and Regional Group signatories and accredited certification bodies, peer evaluation activities, training, and new developments.

2017 saw the IAF MLA expand to include the Global Food Safety Initiative benchmarking process (GFSI), as well as the FAMI-QS specialty feed ingredients certification scheme, and a management systems auditor scheme. The network has also grown to include applicants from five new Accreditation Bodies, while there is a 12% increase in the number of accredited certification bodies.
