» Improving Clinical Engineering & Physical Science Services (iCEPSS) Accreditation Scheme
28 March, 2017
UKAS has been working with a number of stakeholders including NHS England and the Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine (IPEM) over the past few years to develop criteria that can be used as a basis for accreditation of Clinical Engineering and Physical Science Services. UKAS has now agreed to continue this work with IPEM and establish an accreditation programme for those specialisms falling under the clinical engineering and physical sciences umbrella.
UKAS is now in the process of establishing a committee of experts and key stakeholders to provide advice on the development of this scheme and further details will be published shortly. UKAS will aim to ensure that the scheme is aligned to the existing medical laboratory and diagnostic schemes to allow for shared learning, knowledge transfer and support across the scientific and diagnostic services to continue to improve the quality of services and outcomes for patients.
Further information can be found in the Joint Statement on Improving Clinical Engineering and Physical Science Services (iCEPSS) Accreditation Scheme.
