» Applicants announced for event sustainability (ENMS) pilot project

The United Kingdom Accreditation Service is establishing a project to develop accreditation for the certification of event sustainability management systems (ESMS) according to ISO 20121: 2012. Following a call for expressions of interest, UKAS is pleased to announce that the following organisations will participate in the UKAS pilot assessment programme:

  • Carbon Trust Assurance
  • ERM Certification and Verification Services

During the pilot programme UKAS will assess the competence, impartiality and performance capability of applicant organisations using the internationally recognised management systems certification standard ISO/IEC 17021: 2015 (Conformity assessment – Requirements for bodies providing audit and certification of management systems) and ISO/IEC TS 17021-4 (Competence requirements for auditing and certification of event sustainability management systems).

On completion of the pilot programme, UKAS will announce the accreditation of successful certification bodies. The scheme will then be open to other organisations wishing to apply for accreditation.

The pilot assessment programme will commence in January 2019 and be completed in approximately August 2019.
