The Academy of Healthcare Science (AHCS) and Welsh Government Annual Conference will take place on Wednesday 30 November and Thursday 1st December at The SSE SWALEC Stadium, Sophia Gardens in Cardiff. Hosted by the Academy of Healthcare Science and the Chief Scientific Adviser (Health) the Conference will provide a forum to showcase  the 'Best of British Science' which will provide delegates with an expansive programme exploring why taking a Best of British Science approach to Prudent Healthcare matters in Healthcare Science.

The Welsh Cabinet Secretary for Health, Well-Being and Sport, Vaughan Gething AM will talk about Prudent Healthcare and launch the strategy for Health Science in Wales. The Chief Scientific Adviser for Wales Professor Julie Williams will outline the strategy for Striving for Excellence. 

UKAS and The Royal College of Physicians (RCP) will be in attendance showcasing the Improving Quality in Physiological Services (IQIPS) Scheme. UKAS has been licensed by The Royal College of Physicians to manage and deliver IQIPS, a professionally-led assessment and accreditation programme designed to improve services, care and safety for patients undergoing physiological science service tests, examinations and procedures. IQIPS is now recognised by the CQC. Dr Kerry Tinkler, Director of Standards and Registrar, AHCS will be presenting 'Models for 21st Century Regulation of Professionals. 

Supported by the Welsh Scientific Advisory Committee and NHS Wales Executive Directors of Therapies and Health Sciences this Conference will provide a dynamic environment to network with colleagues from across Wales and to hear the latest updates about the healthcare strategy for Wales.
