EU Exit
UKAS has welcomed the publication of an open letter to businesses from Secretary of State for Exiting the EU David Davis, Chancellor Philip Hammond, and Business Secretary Greg Clark setting out their plans for an implementation period following Brexit. The purpose of the letter is to reassure those businesses concerned about the uncertainty currently surrounding the Brexit process. It is intended that the terms of trade will remain unchanged during the implementation period, based on the existing structure of EU rules and regulations. It is also intended that the transitional arrangements will apply across the breadth of the current arrangements, including therefore the product regulation requiring CE marking and the system of notified bodies.
