UKAS Section Head for Development
Background:
David graduated with a BEng (Hons) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Portsmouth University in 1993 and completed a PhD at University College London in Electrical Engineering. David joined the Forensic Science Services (FSS) in 1997 working in the Research and Development team on a European Forensic Imaging project before establishing a range of digital forensic capability which obtained UKAS accreditation to ISO 17025.
After leaving the FSS, David started as an Assessment Manager at UKAS with responsibility for undertaking assessment of organisations involved in testing, inspection and certification activities. In 2015 David moved into the development section as a Project Manager and now is now the Section Head for Development, with responsibility for developing the UKAS accreditation scheme for Medical Physicals and Clinical Engineering (MPACE).
Experience:
Throughout his career David has delivered training to internal staff and external stakeholders through commercial training or government and international projects, helping delegates to develop better understanding of quality standards in evolving forensic areas.
When not working:
In his spare time David enjoys playing squash and golf and walking his dog.
