Peer Assessor Recruitment

We are actively recruiting new Peer Assessors from branches of laboratory medicine.

Why be a Peer Assessor?
The input from the Peer Assessor is pivotal to the effectiveness of the assessment and even more valuable during this transition period. Once trained in assessing against ISO 15189 : 2012 and to UKAS requirements, you will have the personal satisfaction of knowing that you have contributed to the evaluation of the competence of a medical laboratory using your technical and clinical expertise. An additional bonus is the opportunity to share experience and discuss scientific developments with your peers.

Whether you are retired or in full or part time work you can still apply providing you can demonstrate up to date awareness and knowledge of your field and could provide an effective and in depth assessment to ISO 15189 : 2012 in your specific discipline.

Further information and details of how to apply can be found on the UKAS Careers site.

You are also welcome to encourage your colleagues to apply. Your application will need the support of your local institution and relevant professional body. Once accepted, you will be offered a place on one of the training courses that are held twice a year.

What commitment will I need to make?
We would expect you to commit to delivering 3 assessment visits per annum and to commit to attending the assessment visit, once the date has been agreed with you.
