» Risk Assessments for Pseudomonas Aeruginosa

UKAS has established a project to develop accreditation for ISO/IEC 17020, Requirements for the operation of various types of bodies performing inspection for risk assessment for Pseudomonas aeruginosa in water and/or water quality in general.

UKAS is running a pilot programme involving organisations that expressed interest to seek accreditation for this activity. Given the number of interested expressions and also comments and suggestions for the project to evolve to include a number of water quality parameters and not just pseudomonas aeruginosa, it was agreed further consultation with experts and stakeholders was required. As a result, the project has broadened in scope. UKAS will now consult with the NHS  to determine the best way to progress.
