British Army Training Syllabus Accreditation Programme | New Programmes

About the programme

UKAS is developing an accreditation approach for the inspection of bodies delivering training based on the British Army training syllabus, aligned to ISO/IEC 17020:2026. The programme is designed to support a robust, consistent and trusted assessment model for organisations delivering this specialist training outside the British Army for NATO partners.

Current status

UKAS is currently running a pilot accreditation programme for organisations delivering training using the British Army syllabus. The pilot brings together a number of inspection bodies, working closely with the UKAS Development Team to test, shape and strengthen the proposed accreditation process for this new area.

The programme is focused on finding the most effective way to assess inspection bodies against the British Army training syllabus and supporting requirements. Through practical evaluation, collaboration and stakeholder input, UKAS is building an assessment methodology that promotes confidence, consistency and meaningful assurance for users of the scheme.

Once the pilot has concluded and the assessment approach has been finalised, UKAS will move towards granting the first accreditations under the programme.
