Lessons from the Grenfell Tower – A Lecture Delivered by Dame Judith Hackitt

On 2nd December, UKAS presented a 25th Anniversary Lecture, which was delivered by Dame Judith Hackitt DBE, FREng, FIChemE, FCGI.

In the lecture, Dame Judith provided a deep insight into how dysfunctional supply chains can lead to catastrophic consequences, not just in construction but also in other sectors.

The webinar provided an interesting opportunity to hear from the author of the Hackitt Report on the best measures and policies to implement, in order to prevent future tragedies similar to that of the Grenfell Tower.

The lecture provided valuable lessons to those working in:

  • Safety-critical industries
  • Government policy
  • Safety, quality and environmental roles
  • Situations that are heavily reliant on supply chains
  • Construction and facilities management

You can watch a recording of the webinar here, including the Q&A session that followed the lecture.
