ISAS is key to bright future for imaging

The UKAS 21st anniversary celebration and ISAS standard ‘soft re-launch’ celebrations were combined at The Pullman Hotel in Central London on 25th January 2017. Guests included ISAS accredited organisations, organisations currently going through their ISAS accreditation journey and Keynote Guest Speakers, including UKAS’ Chairman Lord Jamie Lindsay and Richard Evans, SCoR CEO who facilitated the event. Indeed Richard Evans proclaimed; “…..that there was much to celebrate…” as he welcomed guests and speakers alike to the anniversary celebration.

Speaker topics included updates around the main changes to the Standard, namely the introduction of a leadership and management domain to ensure clear leadership delivery within the organisation. In addition the ISAS Standard v3.0 2017 revisions have taken into account developments in diagnostic imaging practice, technology, professional guidance, legislative requirements, patient, staff and customer expectations. Indeed patients, carers and other interested parties have more access to information than before which has resulted in increased expectations, requiring healthcare professionals to demonstrate greater accountability and transparency.

Organisations who are going through the accreditation process also have access to an updated ISAS Traffic Light Ready (TLR) Diagnostic Online Tool. This version is even more user friendly with helpful prompts to assist the user, including a summary report which identifies any GAPs in the organisation’s processes and quality management systems.
