ISO/IEC 17021 – Accreditation for Certification of Anti-Bribery Management Systems (ISO 37001:2016)

The Anti-Bribery Management Systems standard was published in October 2016.  UKAS has recently been asked if it is able to offer accreditation for this new management system standard.  Accreditation would be to ISO/IEC 17021-1:2015 (Conformity assessment - Requirements for bodies providing audit and certification of management systems) and also take into consideration the expectation of PD ISO/IEC TS 17021-9:2016 (Part 9 : Competency requirements for auditing and certification of anti-bribery management systems).

As this standard is a new area of accreditation, UKAS would like to gauge the likely level of interest there may be from Conformity Assessment Bodies who would want to certify organisations against ISO 37001:2016.  The level of interest will assist UKAS in determining the best way forward with a development project for this area.

As this is an initial announcement to gauge the demand please provide feedback to UKAS (alison.severn@ukas.com) by the 24th March 2017.  It would also be helpful in the planning if you could provide the following information :

• How many clients do you have that are interested in being certificated to ISO 37001?

• When do you envisage that you will be ready to offer certification to ISO 37001?

• When will your clients be ready for a Stage 1 and Stage 2 audit?

• Where do the majority of your potential clients operate (solely UK, Solely Europe, rest of the world)?
