» DHF recommends accredited certification
The Door & Hardware Federation (DHF), which represents the UK’s leading manufacturers of door and window hardware and locks, has published guidance to support contractors and Building Control Officers to meet the new security requirements included in the English Building Regulations. The Regulations now require new homes to incorporate measures to resist unauthorised entry by casual or opportunist burglars.
The DHF guide recommends that third-party certification is obtained from a UKAS-accredited certification body that has checked and assessed the evidence relating to the doors and windows, in order to make the process more efficient for both the contractor and the Building Control Officer.
A copy of the guidance is available on the DHF website.
