The Hungarian Accreditation Board (NAT) ceased its activities on 31st December 2015.

As a result:

1) NAT’s membership of the European Cooperation for Accreditation (EA) and its EA Multilateral Agreement (EA MLA) signatory status is terminated;

2) Conformity assessment documents issued under NAT accreditation are no longer covered by the EA MLA as there is currently no MLA signatory in the Hungarian economy.

3) NAT’s membership of the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) and the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) is terminated, and its signatory status to the IAF Multilateral Mutual Recognition Arrangement (IAF MLA) and the ILAC mutual recognition arrangement (the ILAC MRA) is also terminated.

Contact is on-going between EA and the Hungarian Ministry with a view to minimize any negative effects of the change in the accreditation system.

Please contact UKAS (01784 429000 or info@ukas.com) if you have any queries.

A full list of EA MLA signatories can be accessed on the EA website.
