Accreditation

Supporting the needs of global regulators

The global ILAC and IAF arrangements underpin the international acceptance of traded products. This acceptance is also brought into play where regulations operate. Through accredited sources, economic operators can demonstrate that their products meet market requirements, and market operators can use these products with confidence. This system also enables governments to regulate products in the knowledge that the market will have the means of meeting both voluntary and regulatory requirements in a transparent fashion.

Public Sector Assurance, a website jointly developed by IAF/ILAC/ISOIEC/IIOC, showcases the benefits of accredited testing, inspection, and certification to meet policy objectives. The site showcases case studies, independent research and supporting information from around the world in key policy areas to demonstrate how different tools help government officials and regulators deliver results.
