To gain accreditation, a biobank must be fully conversant and comply with the following international standard:

In addition, accredited biobanks must meet the requirements stated in relevant EA and ILAC mandatory documents. Applicable documents depend upon the activities covered in the scope of a Biobank’s accreditation.
