This course aims to provide an understanding of ISO/IEC 17043: 2010 (Guidelines for the requirements for the competence of providers of proficiency testing schemes). It focuses on understanding and applying the standard in an assessment context.

Day 1

- UKAS assessment process including assessment team
- Representation of accreditation on schedules of accreditation 
- Organisation and management
- Internal audit and management review
- Management system requirements
- Contract review
- Operation of PT / EQA
- Design of PT / EQA including advisory group

Day 2

- Design of PT/EQA continued including sample preparation/homogeneity/stability
- Personnel and competence
- The use of ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO 15189 in assessments
- How to assess statistical design and data handling
- Communication and collusion
- Use of ISO/IEC 17043: 2010

Please note: Delegates of this course will be required to complete a pre-course exercise prior to attending.

This course will run on a demand basis only when we have at least 5 delegates registering an interest.
Please note that UKAS has taken the decision not to offer residential packages from 1st January 2018. Accommodation for courses after 1st January 2018 will be the responsibility of the delegate. There are a number of convenient hotels close to the UKAS office in Staines – Details of these hotels will be provided at the time that the delegate’s place is confirmed on the course.
