UKAS is looking for independent technical assessors for torque calibration.
Successful applicants will have a knowledge and understanding of the following:
- Awareness of standards and specifications, including BS 7882. Understanding and application of uncertainty influences affecting length and diameter measurements.
- Use and/or application of torque devices, Measurement of torque transducers using torque beams and masses and / or reference transducer techniques. Awareness of standards and specifications applicable to torque devices such as BS 7882. Understanding and application of uncertainty influences affecting general torque measurements.
- Measurement of hand tools and devices using torque beams and masses and/or reference transducer techniques. Awareness of standards and specifications applicable to torque tools such as BS EN ISO 6789. Understanding and application of uncertainty influences affecting general torque measurements.
It is important that our assessors are acceptable to a wide range of accredited bodies, and therefore it is important that they can demonstrate a good degree of impartiality.
UKAS contracts independent technical assessors on a day rate basis, the level of work depends on the demands that our customers place on us and therefore UKAS cannot guarantee specific levels of work.
