» IQIPS Standard Consultation
03 July, 2019
The new IQIPS Standard, which has been developed by the physiology community, is available in draft for wider consultation. It is a requirement that any standard is revised after a period of 4-5 years and the Accreditation Clinical Advisory Group (ACAG), has been working on the revision of the current IQIPS Standard for the past two years. The new version of the standard is based upon ISO 15189 and fully incorporates the requirements of the current IQIPS standard v1. This revised standard specifies the requirements for quality and competence in physiological science services. It is recognised that this standard could also be useful and appropriate to other related healthcare disciplines.
UKAS accredits physiological science services against the requirements of the IQIPS Standard. The purpose of this standard is to ensure that healthcare providers are able to deliver clinical diagnostic and interventional services that are well-led, effective, safe, efficient, responsive, accessible, patient focussed, equitable, sustainable and financially viable. You can find a consultation copy of the Draft IQIPS Standard V2.0 on the Publications for Consultation page together with a comments form. Consultation ends on 31st July 2019.
