Setting the Bar: How Accreditation can Build a Safer Future

On 24th November, UKAS and the Construction Industry Council (CIC) presented a webinar to update attendees on the latest developments in the Government’s Building Safety Programme in response to the Grenfell Tower Tragedy.

The webinar explored how accreditation will be used to provide confidence in the assessment of competence, as called for in the recently published, industry-led report ‘Setting the Bar – A New Competence Regime for Building a Safer Future.’

Participating organisations included HSE, MHCLG, EngC and BAFE, along with UKAS and CIC.

The objective of the webinar was to ‘demystify’ the accreditation process for organisations considering accreditation for the first time.  It also covered the development of new Certification Schemes designed to meet the recommendations contained in the ‘Setting the Bar’ report.

You can watch a replay of the webinar here, which includes the question and answer sessions that followed the webinar.
