eLearning update from the UKAS Training Academy

The UKAS Training Academy launched its eLearning offering at the end of June 2022 with a starting portfolio of eight courses. These courses cover a number of key topics across several technical sectors, including medical laboratories, metrology, product certification (UKCA) and Quality Management Systems (QMS).

Since the launch, the Academy has supplemented this portfolio with five additional courses, including micro modules focusing on the specific topics that customers have fed back as requiring additional support.

Our courses are designed to support our customers’ continual improvement and enhanced technical understanding of subjects. Uptake of the courses has been very encouraging, with enrolment levels far exceeding initial expectations. We are delighted by the extremely positive feedback received across the whole portfolio, demonstrating that we are meeting these objectives.

The Academy will seek more formalised feedback towards the end of September this year in the form of an electronic survey. The findings of this survey will be used to shape continual improvements in both content and user experience, potentially leading to the development of future courses or micro modules.

The Training Academy has plans to further enhance the suite of available courses over the autumn months, including new offerings such as a micro module on validation / verification in a medical diagnostic laboratory.

Digital badging is currently being implemented for completed eLearning courses, providing learners with the opportunity to share their new course completion credential easily with their network on any social media channel. Badges will be issued to all learners that have purchased and completed an eLearning course since the end of June 2022.
