Introduction to the UKAS Digital Accreditation Schedule

UKAS as the UK’s national accreditation body, appointed by government to assess the competence of organisations that deliver testing, inspection, certification and calibration services, issues accreditation schedules as the formal record that defines the scope of an organisation’s accredited activities. The accreditation schedules detail which tests, inspections, certifications or calibrations the body is accredited to perform. It accompanies an accreditation certificate for each conformity assessment standard and sets out the limits and conditions of accreditation, helping users understand what services they can trust.

The UKAS website enables the public to search and verify accredited bodies and their schedules, ensuring transparency and confidence in accredited services.

Starting June 2026, the UKAS Accreditation schedule will be integrated with the UKAS accreditation certificate and will be available digitally and as a PDF on the UKAS website.

The new Digital Accreditation Schedule is designed to make accredited scopes consistent, creating a level playing field for UKAS accredited customers and making accredited services more accessible and easier to navigate for the public.

UKAS has developed a series of short videos to showcase the new Digital Accreditation Schedule which can now be shared in various ways as explained in the demo provided.

Our journey to digitalising the accreditation schedule

As part of the digitalisation process, we standardised the terminology used across all schedules. This removed inconsistencies and made accreditation scopes clearer and easier to understand. We also developed glossaries that map the old terms to the new ones, giving customers a simple way to see how their existing terminology translates into the updated digital format.

These glossaries are published on the UKAS website, so customers could familiarise themselves with the new language ahead of the transition.

By taking these steps, we’ve made the new digital schedule clearer, more consistent and simpler for both customers and members of the public to search and navigate.
