UKAS Assessment Manager
Background:
Before entering into metrology, Chris had a background as an electrician engineer, starting his career at a leading manufacturer of humidity and temperature measurement devices. He spent 15 years there, working his way up to head of a lab.
Experience:
During his work as head of lab, he introduced new services, including stirred liquid baths with SPRTs and low dew point calibration. He also innovated new techniques of humidity calibration using manifolds, two pressure generators and saturator-based low dew point generators.
Through several research projects, he reduced the overall measurement uncertainty of the lab to some of the lowest in the country.
Chris joined UKAS in 2022, as an Assessment Manager specialising in humidity, dew point and temperature measurement/calibration.
When not working:
During his free time, Chris enjoys DJing, mixing and creating music using synthesisers, effects pedals and loopers.
He also snowboards, occasionally skateboards and enjoys various ocean sports with his long-term girlfriend Justine. Together they enjoy many long walks with their dog Finn on the beach and in local woodland.
