Background:
Elena has a degree in Food Science and Technology, which led her to work in DNA analysis laboratories, obtaining experience in molecular biology techniques. From the very start Elena got involved in setting up quality management systems to gain and maintain accreditation to ISO/IEC 17025.
Her interest in engaging others in science led to a Diploma in Science Communication and work in knowledge transfer and training for the past 15 years.
Experience:
Since the beginning of her career in science, Elena has been involved in setting up teams to deliver DNA testing work conforming to accreditation standards, including development and implementation of training programmes.
As a training consultant Elena has delivered face-to-face and online course in analytical quality topics such as Essential Statistics, Method Validation, Measurement Uncertainty to customers in the UK and internationally. Elena has also supported the UK representation in Eurachem and formed part of the Education and Training working group.
When not working:
Elena likes to read as much as she can get away with and walk her dog with family and friends. She also loves travelling.
