Assessor Training – Medical Laboratories ISO 15189: 2012

This 3 day course aims to provide an understanding of ISO 15189: 2012 and training in the assessment of its application for the accreditation of medical laboratories. A copy of BS EN ISO 15189:2012 can be purchased and downloaded from the BSI Shop.

What are the benefits?

The course will enable delegates to gain knowledge of the particular requirements for quality and competence for medical laboratories, as defined in ISO 15189: 2012 and used as the criteria for accreditation, and to gain a practical understanding of the assessment methodology used by a National Accreditation Body through lectures, exercises and role play.

Please note: Delegates of this course will be required to complete a pre-course exercise prior to attending.

Meet the trainers

This course is delivered by:

Darren Edwards
Having joined UKAS in 2007, Darren is a highly experienced Assessment Manager and Lead Assessor of medical laboratories. Darren has an expert knowledge of the requirements of ISO 15189 and ISO 17043 and how they are interpreted by UKAS. Darren holds a BSc in Microbiology and an MSc in Quality Management and Improvement.
