This micro module defines the difference between training and competency and provides some examples of each.  It also references relevant standards and provides links to some potential resources for information.

This is a micro-module and as such is just a taster of what we cover in our more extensive virtual or classroom awareness modules.  It is also not standard specific but generalised principles followed by International Standard requirements.

    By the end of this module, the learner will:

    • Understand the difference between training and competence and how this applies in their workplace setting
    • Be aware and be able to determine what systems are in place in their workplace and find the records that demonstrate the implementation of the system(s)

    All those who are new to accreditation and certification and international standards and wish to learn more about training and competency requirements.
