This course covers the origins of control processes and the introduction of statistical control measures that support effective quality assurance mechanisms. It is designed to increase awareness of the value of quality control and statistical control processes through a better understanding of their application.
This module has been revised to reflect the requirements of ISO 15189:2022 and now includes more considerations for qualitative quality assurance provided by our Technical Focus Person for Histopathology.

By the end of this course, learners will:
- Understand the history of quality control and how it informs modern quality and statistical process controls.
- Have greater knowledge of the supporting aspects and tools that can be utilised to design and implement quality assurance mechanisms.
- Be able to recognise the foundations of quality control systems that may be applied to their organisation.
- Be able to apply the course content and considerations to improve internal quality control.

This course is expected to take approximately four to six hours to complete.
Can I access the eLearning modules once I have completed them?
- eLearning modules are available to the user for 12 months from the date of enrolment, and can be accessed any time within this period.
How do I pay?
- eLearning modules can be purchased online with a credit or debit card. If you are spending over £250 in a single transaction please contact our training team for additional payment options.
- Trainer-led and blended courses can be booked with a purchase order number and will be invoiced as soon as the booking is processed. The invoice can be cleared by BACS or card payment over the phone. The invoice value must be paid by the course start date.
