This Master terms glossary and change mapping document provides details of standardised terms that will be used on UKAS digital schedules of accreditation, in many instances replacing similar terms used on current schedules.
The Master term glossary tables list the Objects of conformity assessment and Type of evaluation terms that will be used for this conformity assessment standard. Please refer to the accompanying Master terms glossary and change mapping – Introduction document for definitions and examples of Objects of conformity assessment and Types of evaluation.
With the exception of ISO/IEC 17065, the subsequent tables provide change mapping details for previously used schedule terms and the master terms these will be converted to. The master term is a standardised term for similar terms that essentially mean the same thing. For ISO/IEC 17065, change mapping was not possible as schedules for this standard mostly contain unique terms.
The lists here are not exhaustive, they are provided as examples of the types of currently used schedule terms and their conversion to standardised Master terms. These terms are subject to change where necessary following review and acceptance testing.
